Paul Chenard presents BRASIL PROJECT, Red Hot Afro-Brazilian Jazz Samba Ensemble.
The irresistible grooves of Paul Chenard’s Matanza have returned this time with a Brazilian recording project that originated in Sydney one year ago. The finishing touches to the album were recorded and mixed in Rio de Janeiro and it includes world class musicians from Brasil and Australia. The CD was mixed by none other than award winning Alex Moreira from Bossa Cucanova.
After lengthy travels in Brazil, Paul and his team have re arranged some of the beautiful melodies from the Choro and Samba song book and applied them to a more contemporary sound. The result is a fresh and colourful sound and features compelling instrumental performances from the band members.
The CD is a blend of Funk, Samba, Jazz and Choro music and is a real cross pollination of styles.
